I am installing an MTX 801 D mono amp to power two 4 ohm dvc GT 1041 d jbl subwoofers. The subs are temporary until my MTX 7510 04's arrive. The jbl's are rated to 250 watts rms and I want to know the best way to wire them in so they'll survive. The local dealer says wire them to 2 ohms and keep the gain down and I'll be fine but what do you guys think?
My hu is an alpine 9835 with a clarion 401.2 amp powering the mids and tweets.
I'm a relative newbie to this so pardon my ignorance I'm trying to learn!
Thank you.

well you cant run those subs at 2ohms unless you run them stereo which Idont think you will get the power that you want out of that amp but maybe. so you should check with your local shop again! they can be run at 1ohm or 4ohms mono. you can run 1 of them at 2ohms mono if you wanna do that. I dont know if that amp is stable to 1 ohm I dont think so. So check again with that shop.

I take back the stereo thing they can be run at stereo with that amp so I am not sure if that amp is stable at 1ohm if it is great if not find another option.
