Subwoofer and Amp

I have one ALUM12Q 1000RMS subwoofer...I need to know what amplifer I should get? It is a dual 6 ohm voice coil.

mmmm dual 6 ohm....your gonna need an amp thats 2 ohm stable and will put out about 800rms at 4 ohms...personally i think your best bet may be as much as it pains me to say this a JL 1000/1...its 1000rms @ 1-4 ohms....its gonna cost you a pretty penny though...

can i use an amp that puts out 1000 RMS at 2 ohms ?

Nope. You'd need an amp that puts out roughly 1000 on a 3 ohm load. It's an odd load, a JBL 600.1 would work pretty well, it'll provide 900-1000 on a 3 ohm load.
