Say u have a 4 channel amp at 1000 watts and each channel puts out 250. say u want 750 watts. can u put 3 different wires on 3 positives and 3 different wires on 3 negatives then twist all the positives and negatives together then connect to the sub to create the 750?
no. the solution is to bridge the amp to two channels. if the amp is 250x4 @ 4 ohms, you'd get 1Kwx2 @ 4 ohms bridged.
you either need a different amp, or just don't turn it up all the way and you should be ok. power ratihgs on amps are at full output. most people never reach that level of power anyway, and remember every time you double the audible volume, you are using ten times the power.. so as you turn the volume down, power drops rather quickly.
