I have had my components for a while - 5 1/4" Cerwin Vegas, which sound really clean. My amp is also an older model of power acoustik. For some reason one of the components doesn't produce sound until i turn the deck to about 15units and then it produces only louder sounds, with crackling noise between producing sound and not producing it (kind of like turning on and off). If I turn the stereo up fairly loud the speaker works just fine and sounds great. I have disconnected and reconnected all connections on the amp and that seemed to solve the problem for a little while, but it came back now. I doubt it's the speaker because it has no problems at louder volumes...any suggestions?

Bad news my friend, sounds like the wire that links the speaker connectors to the coil of the speaker itself has a break in it, u wil notice u can make the speaker work at low volume by playing with the little weaved wires that make the connection.
