I have just bought a new system for my 2002 Ford Explorer. It has a 130A alternator. My system: Adire Brahma 12" MTX Thunder 1501d (750X1 @4 ohms rms) Infinity Kappa 50.5cs& 572.cf) MTX Thunder 404 (50X4 @ 4 ohms rms) Alpine cda-9835 My question is do i need to replace my stock alternator or will i be okay with it? I don't plan to listen to my music more than halfway full volume. Thanks
Hey Anonymous, here's an approximate power number from your alternator. 130A x 12v = 1560W. From this number you subtract the amp's total power. Just remember, if you turn on your headlights/heater/radio, they all use up power.
