For some reason, when i have my windows up, it doesn't sound as loud as with my windows down. i feel like i have 2 15's when i have my windows rolled down. I would think that having my windows up would create more pressure, therefore being louder? What's going on here? |

Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 5687 Registered: Dec-03 | this is aommon. think of the car cabin as the outer chamber of a bandpass enclosure, where your box is the "rear" chamber. when you open the windows, you've changing the volume of the enclosure, and thus affecting the response of the speakers. One trick you could do is to vent the trunk of the car to outside air, such as through the floorboard, where the spare tire resides. coupling the cabin to outside air this way generally will increase output in a vehicle like yours. more info on the topic: http://www.teamrocs.com/technical/pages/trunk.htm |
