i have recently bought a new car, a 1989 lanser, i want to put my old casset player into it. The plugs r not the same. I cant find a simple addaptor that will convert the plugs so i need to change the wires. but i cant fine what colour wires do what for the stero. i no longer have the manual. the sony web site basicly only says that they no longer make it. so what i need is someone who knows what colour wired do what for a sony XR-1940, please help me
Whoa James, why would you go through that much trouble for a Sony product? They really product bad products and over charge. Anyways here's the wiring colour layout for most systems (I borrowed GlassWolf's post).
yellow is ususally illumination red is batt+ (memory) orange is switched ignition. power antenna is blue/white remote is blue black is ground green is left pos green/blk is left neg white is right pos white/blk is right neg
