i am doing ~139dB legal on the new AC mic (isnt the new one the AC-190?) and all the guys at the comp said that the mic we were on was REALLY stiff. one guy said he did 150db on the new TL and he only did 147dB on this mic w/ the exact same setup and mic placement. another has done 144dB on the TL (i saw him do it at another comp) and he maxed out at 141dB on this AC mic!!!
i was wondering if anyone has encountered an AC mic that read like this??? and how would my 139dB compare to what i should do on a TL???
(by the way, the guy that did 141dB had 2 12" L7s walled on a kx1200.1 in an eclipse...i had 1 10" brahma in a 3.65cuft box tuned at 45hz burping at 49hz on a bp1200.1 and did ~139dB...lol)
pretty impressive. I knew the new AC mics were on par with a TLX mic. the SPL-160 is the in-car $399 user model. the AC-190 if I recall is the more pricey one.
