I have a zapco 500.1 and a JL 12w6v2 and im interested in adding another w6. Ive heard of people using a single JL 500.1 to power the two subs and im wondering if it would be possible to do this with mine or am i better off getting a new amp? i also have a spare rockford 801x laying around maybe i could use that? any help is appreciated.

well, you could power the subs with it, but i wouldnt recommend it... each one would get 250-260rms... havnt looked at the chart but im guessing they need around 450-500rms each? again not sure, but i know that powering it with that amp will not let you achieve the full potential of those subs

I've read on the posts that the wattages are thermal... does thermal rating apply to subs measured only in a general wattage and not rms? If the subs are in a sealed box couldn't they acheive their full potential or close to it with that?
