the recommended spl box is 3ft^3 with a 35Hz tune, but not sure if a box for 2 12" with a volume/port would fit in my trunk well. SQ box for 12" is 2ft^3 with 28Hz tune, but I'd like a little more spl too. If I split the difference and made it 2.5ft^3 with 32Hz tune per side would that be a good alternative, giving me a sql type enclosure?

do you have any idea how much SPL you will get out of an SQ!!! ALOT!!!
but two 12" brahmas w/ 2.5cuft tuned at about 30hz would sound great.
if you fork out the cash to get those brahmas, you will be well on your way to great system.
