Ported requires less power?

It can't provide enough voltage and "clips" the top(and bottom) off the otherwise sinusoidal signal making it resemble a square wave. Not good for drivers as the cone actually stops moving for a while at peak excursion which can lead to the voice coil heating up enough to fail. Plus it just plain sounds nasty. -Fishy
