ok here is the problem... i have two insignificant speakers my buddy pulled out of his truck and is letting me "store" them in my car until he decides if he is gonna use them in his new truck. well i ran the cable to my battery and it killed the batt quick like and now i want to hook it up but cant find a better place to hook it that will gurantee no dead battery any suggestions? ( i can not find my start, some suggest it is built into the trans case and im not gonna run a wire in there, especially if its temporary) any help would be much appreciated.

umm, if you're wiring an amplifier, power goes directly to battery (fused), ground goes to chassis close to the amp, and the remote lead goes to the head unit's power antenna or REM lead if you have one, or run to a switched ignition line if not so the amp turns on when the keys are in teh car only.
that shouldn't drain the battery.
