Currently I just have the stock radio with 5 1/2" woofers by the rear window. I'll be removing the stock radio and installing a new HU (Alpine CDA-9833) and Component speakers (Inifinity Perfect 6.1) I am trying to find a way to get clear, tight, clean bass that can go low, but SPL is not my intension, though I'm willing to add more power into the system if it will enhance the clearity. My plan is to get a JL Audio 12W3v2-D2 12" Subwoofer and the appropriate sealed enclosure and put that in the trunk. I have a Nakamichi PA-506 amp that I plan on using to drive the dual 2ohm coils at 200Watts. Does this seem sufficient? since the PA-506 is a 6 channel amp, I plan on using the 1st 4 channels (50watts @ 4ohms per ch), for Front and Rear speakers and the last 2 channels (100watts @ 2 Ohms per ch) for the Subwoofer. Is it ok to have the highs/lows and sub on the same amp? Will the 5 1/2" hole by the rear window be enough to let the bass thru without being too sloppy? Does making the holes bigger help? Would using free-air subwoofers between the trunk and cabin be better? Any suggestions? -Aaron Ryan |
