How would I go about setting the crossover frequency on my amp correctly? Im just adjusting by ear and what sounds good. I dont even know the specifics. I know it determines when and what frequency the subs will enter at right? I may be wrong pretty much. Can some one explain setting the crossover to me? I have a profile ca600m mono amp and one 12 inch sub. The crossover adjusts from 40hz to 500hz. I have it around 40 to 50 hz right now. When I turn it at half or passed the sub sound like ish. Any help clearing this up would be appreciated. Thanks alot.

And feel free to explain level properly setting bass boost and level too if you want. I know of what they do and how to do it. But any more info to "properly do it" would be nice.

Personally I run my bass boost flat as in "none", but by ear is probably always the best way to set a crossover frequency or any other simple adjustment. If you'd like a target frequency 80 Hz is usually a good choice depending on crossover slope.
