i have a jbl 600.1 amp.. but got room for only one sub.
need great bass that can be heard from a good distance.. heh.. i thought of shiva 12inch.. which other can i buy considering i can spend about $250 +/-

I'd do an Eclipse ALuminum. Eclipse has upgraded year models, so the 8100 series is clearing out and are around $200 or less in most places that carry them. Get the DVC version.
hey jonathan.. the eclipse aluminium sw8122dvc looks cool though but in one of the reviews it says that the sub makes a popping sound in mid bass frequencies..
Haven't experienced any problems there, he probably had it in the wrong box. It's a fantastic sub, excellent SQ and SPL. If you want a sub that's similar in performance, the JL W6v2 comes to mind.
