Do you have the DVC(dual voice coil) or SVC(single voice coil) Vmax's?

The JBL 600.1 will work for either, but which version you have would determine some of the other amplifier possibilities.

Ok you need a monoblock amp stable to 1 ohm or a 2 channel thats stable to 2 ohm stereo(4 ohm bridged).

As far as which particular brand maybe we could get a few suggestions. The JL 500/1 would be an awesome choice.

Its a bit underated at 500 watts.

If you need a new item and the JL is a bit out of your price range this seems to be a pretty good deal.

That Soundstream 500/2 is a discontinued item and probably listed at more than twice that amount. Its an older design and may be a bit higher quality than their present stuff. I have a 300/2 and like the way it sounds both on highs and in subwwoofer applications.

There's plenty of options. You'd probably best served if you can get out and listen to a few before you buy.

Just remember say 500-600 watt monoblock stable to 1 ohm or 2 channel stable to 4 ohm bridged.

good luck :-)

[note] don't forget ebay. You can probably pick up a used JBL BP600.1 for a little over a hundred bucks or so.
