switching the speakers that are in the front doors (5.25 Blau coaxials) to 5.25 Infinty Kappa components. couple questions, where should i mount the 1" tweeter? thought about on the outside of the factory grill since the mids will be behind that grill anyway. secondly, i have Blau 6x9's in the rear deck, they sound horrible, can i just take them out totally and use the open speaker holes to let the bass come through from the subs?
Outside the grill would work well. Also consider upper door, kick panel, and dash mounting. Just put some two sided tape or velcro and try them out in diff. locations, and see what sounds best to you, all ears and cars are different. As far as the 6x9s go, I would recommend you take them out, actually, better SQ and yes, the open speaker holes will allow some air to transfer from the trunk to the cabin, resulting in better SQ from the sub and more SPL in the cabin.
