Hey all,
I'm trying to plan a simple audio system for home and am not too experienced w/ wiring systems together.
Basically I'd like to have several devices plugged into a stereo receiver all sharing the same Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speaker system (plasma tv / blu-ray player, turntable, mp3 device and/or laptop pc).

First off, can I wire the satellite speakers into the receiver and expect the subwoofer to work? There is a "preamp input" from one of the speakers that plugs into the back of the subwoofer.

Or should I get a headphone / 1/8" mini to stereo RCA converter and plug that into an auxiliary output?

This is the back of the Klipsch subwoofer: http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/ciu/eb/d3/45f5224b9da00e8c2d51c010.L. jpg

Here's the back of the stereo receiver (SONY Stereo Amplfier STR-DH100): http://c1.neweggimages.com/productimage/82-105-281-02.jpg

Thanks everyone for your help!

These are computer speakers not home theater speakers, they may not work.

James, though not very elegant, there is a possible solution. You could utilize the headphone jack on the amp to send the audio signal to the Klipsch. You would need a quarter inch stereo headphone to 3.5 mm stereo adaptor like this:

The mini plug from the Klipsch would plug into the adaptor and the adaptor would plug into the headphone jack on the amp. I would turn the volume up on the Klipsch, then use the master volume on the Sony for volume control.

BTW, you can't plug in a turntable directly into the Sony because it doesn't have a phono input. You would have to install a phono preamp between the turntable and the amp.
