Computer to Home Theater (again!) Options

Hi, I connected my PC to my home theater using the headphone jack to analog converter and analog cables from monster but the sound is terrible. Any opinion on using Airport Express (http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/) vs. Hi-Fi Link (http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/HFL-AD1-X1.html) vs. buying a new soundcard (I have the original soundcard from a 3-yr old VAIO PC, which I will replace soon).

Thanks a lot,

The soundcard on your PC make a huge difference in sound quality. Your VAIO likely uses onboard sound which is the worst you can have.

I would highly recommend Creative X-Fi which has both digital and analog output and the best sound quality you can get on PC currently.

As far as using an Airport express, It really depends how far away your PC is from your receiver. more than 15 ft and I would recommend you use digital output and perhaps use the airport express as a transport medium. If your sound card is bad, even with the airport express, it will still sound bad. try this link for some hands on feedback.
