I should know this, but thank goodness electronics is not my day job. The crossover for my receiver is fixed at 90hz, so what setting should I use for the sub? I assume 90 hz, but that makes too much sense for that to be right.

Might as well set it as high as it will go, since it's only gonna get 90Hhz and below anyway. That way the crossovers won't interfere with each other.
