I was able to find me a older 2003 Alpine CDA-9813 HU brand new from a guy on Ebay. Better overall HU then the ones Alpine makes these days. I like Pioneer Premier the most out of the head units available these days under $550. I might consider getting one of the newer Pioneer Units if i dont get good results with the Alpine which im sure i will based on James Longo and Glasswolfs Observations with it.

hopefully at least 1 of thoes links will for for you.

MO, i still have my old Alpine CDA-9813. great unit, but not as easy to use as my Pioneer 880PRS imo. also note that Alpine units start clipping very early, so you can't have the volume up as high when setting gains as you could with the Pioneer. but an overall solid unit, i don't want to sell my 9813, so i put it in my brother's truck, lol.

i really want an Alpine H701 processor combo or Pioneer P9 combo.

*Pioneer's web site links adds a bunch of crap in front of them on this site and they don't work. copy and paste the link and put take the space out and it'll work. no idea why.

Its superb, One of the best decks. As soon as you power it out of the box you will notice a differance let alone the 13 band eq on it is fantastic.

Why downgrade to the Alpine? I came from a 9813/9815 to the 860 and the 860 walked all over the 9813. Higher power, better control over the SQ and auto EQ. The Alpine cant touch it(IMO).

If I found the Alpine to be better, I would have dumped the 860 from the start! Now I'm looking at the 880(wanting it not needing it).

Benny, that was well said. I also find the 860 much better then the 9813 alpine deck. I must have gotten spoiled with the 860 cause when i powered up the 9813 i noticed a huge differance right out of the box let alone any EQ'ing. The 880 has that 16 band eq that is just awesome. Even the 860's 13 band eq is impressive.

I find the 880 to be no differant then then 860 after playing with it over the weekend. The main thing is the 24 bit burr brown dacs and the 880 has 2 more bands of EQ then the 860 which is not that much more audible really. Either one is a WINNER. I liked the looks of the 860 a bit more as it has more colors and is lively as opposed to the 880 which is boring after a while.

My Brand New Pioneer 880prs is now up for sale as im getting ready to purchase the 780 which is really the same unit but looks alot better to me with a larger screen.

It was purchased thru sonicelectronix and is in mint condition and only used for 2 days !!!

$250 shipped !!!!!!!!!! while it lasts
