If I have a US address and purchase dish network to use while I am down there on holidays, is it possible to bring it back across the border to use while at home (Canada)? I already have the equipment setup here in Canada so I won't need to bring that back and forth. If it is possible, is it legal?
I'm just looking at this to see if its possible over just getting Bell/Star choice.
Its possible and no its not legal you won't get any grief about it, but you are not supposed to receive dish programming outside of the US and places they authorized to sell to thank the CRTC for that one.

legal....I don't think so In the USA you can not remove rental equipment from the property they were deliever or install without the company's permission.
But don't take my word or someone else when there is a question on legal matters. Check with a Lawyer or call Dish Network.
If it was legal I would think that lot of the Canadians that have a friend, a business or works in the USA would be doing the same thing which is not legal in Canada. Dish Network can't get a business License to operate in Canada.
Yes azzhole we are not talking about Americans camping in Canada. We are talking about Full Name a Resident of Canada bringing Dish Network's equipment in Canada without their permission. Even if he is lucky enough to get through the Canadian Customs.

Guys !! its Illegal, but no body care about it, there is a chapter in the CRTC said , Any programming foreing in Canada is Illegal, example Spanish Channels like Univision they dont have licenses to come to Canada, so Cable like Rogers or whatever cant put it, now if you live in cobourg Ontario you can get all the channels from Rochester On the Air and Canada cant do anything, also they said FTA Antennas are illegals too, but honest nothing is clear and i see people walking away without problems
True FTA is legal in Canada, a guy win in suprem court with a C-Band dish because he says that the channels which he get is not furnish in Canada and did not harm the canadian provider.
Yes, but Channels likes ABC, Fox and others are coming via FTA too, I am Spanish and the only way to see Quality TV in Spanish is FTA, Dish or DTV, Canada has Telelatino and others but no good, becuase Univision does not provide Air Channel and they Franchaise their Stations, so if we want to have Canadian Univision someone needs to buy it
