I have an Envision 42" HDTV viewing HD cable via a SA8300HD box. I get incredible HD pictures via HDMI but have an annoying problem when viewing most SD channels. The picture does not reach the top of the screen and there are white flickering lines at the very top.
(see picture).

They are only present while viewing SD channels via HDMI. If I switch to component cables the SD picture is perfect. I have searched this forum and others for an answer with no results. Any help is appreciated.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen this problem. . . one solution to this problem is to use the composite cable that your cable company should have provided and then go with an optical out for the digital audio.

This is a problem with yor TV manufacturer
They are not the standard frame size of 720x480 SD

I would contact the TV manufacturer
Yo may have to enable all formats on yor SA8300
I think is pressing Menu & Guide at same time on yor box not from the remote control
Enable each format like 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i etc., One by One

Yo may have to call yor Tech Support at yor cable company
If this doesn't fix the problem
Then yo got what yo paid for yor TV
