Receiver getting confused with sats.

Hey.
My friend has a problem with his receiver(I think). The receiver is confusing satellites. For example, he has E*ho$tar 7 and 8 configured and all working fine. What happens now is when he goes to antena setup and selects E*ho$tar 7, then on the top right corner E*ho$tar 8 appears. No matter what settings he chooses or what lnb type it's always showing 8. So, no channels that are on 7 are viewable. I presume that this problem can be fixed with loading factory bin, but this problem occurs pretty often and it's painful for him to go through factory bin path every time.
DO you guys know what possibly could be wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Whether he has a LNB scanning two sats simultaneously or only one sat is the crucial information missing in your post.
You can only scan the satellite you are pointing to.

For Echo 7 (119W) use
TP Freq 11250
TP type Standard or dp (see later)
TP list - first TP 12224 V or 12239 H
DiseqC - port 1

Then Scan - save turn off receiver.

For Echo 8.10 (110W) use
TP Freq 11250
TP type Standard or dp (see later)
TP list - first TP 12224 H
DiseqC - port 2 or None

Then Scan

The main difference is that in some cases you have to use disEqC none and in some receiver/LNB setups you have to use port 2 for 110w
