718 is starz and 716 says it's moved .. BUT i don't do 118.. YET.. I'm only looking at 61 /110/119..maybe they will show up if i had 118 instead of 61...I'll look on lyngsat...Thanks LK
LK most of s.asian channel are already on 148 ..i think 61.5 offers same channels as 148 does.. why the fu*ck they don't add these 3 channels (starplus+ star1 + geo agg tv ) to 148 dish...?
Dish is here to make money, most of the west coast subscriber uses 148 to get international and I am sure they will add Star+ and Star 1 on 148 otherwise people will complain. Why would they only have Star+/Star1 on 61 and 118 when most people in west coast uses 148 it doesn't make any sense to me.
well still it doesn't makes business sense for Dish. In order to have everyone pointed to 118 they will have to come and align their dishes. why they will spend time doing it when they know that their customer already are pointed to 148 and receiving other international channel. I also didn't hear any plan of migrating 148 channels to 118.
ok LK my question is this for example if i am dish subcriber, and i have 148 dish and i want to have starplus.. i need to get 118 right.. so who has to pay money for installation of new dish? is it customer or dn?
DN for many months now, has been coming to subscribers homes and changing out LNB's and dishes at the expense of DN, for those that have packages where the channels have migrated to the 118...a simple phone call to DN would have answered your question..
Now if U are adding channels or altering packages, then U may have to eat the costs..thats what phones are for, to communicate ..
BTW...U don't have to be a subscriber to ask questions..

You will get a poor signal unless you use a 30-33" dish. You need a CB2008A LNB which a special LNB to give you both 119 and 118.7W on one LNB on one output and there is a second output for a second receiver. You have to different LNB freq for 118.7 - use 10750 or lower. Also the first TP is 11715 V. Look at Lyngsat listing of TPs for 118.7 After scanning 118.7, you change to 11250 Freq and First TP 12239 to get your 119W. Use Port 1 on switch if you have more than this special LNB, but keep same port setting for both 118.7 and 119W. People have obtained signals on smaller Dishes and other LNBs but the whole experiecne is frustrating. The CB2008A costs about $20-25, but the bracket might need changing. DN have a special KIT available - I think it is about $110.
NALIN NYDA. .. Big thanks. I already have 119 using a separate dish. I just need 118.7 alone. Can I get that or it is combination of 119 and 118.7 together? The bottom line is the cost of a CB2008A (not CB2008) is a mere $20. You can still use it and scan only 118.7 part. You can also use another antenna slate in your LNB - something you are not using and change all the parameters to keep 118.7 separate on it. The problem might be in terms of getting everything through on one cable. If your current switching setup accomodates other LNBs such as 61.5 or 148, use that connection and port setting with a new Dish with CB2008A. Normally, if you retain your old 119/110 twin you will run into difficulties. If you are having these on separate LNBs through a separate switch, there may be very little or no problem in putting the new 118.7 on Port 3 or 4. YOU CANNOT GET AWAY FROM THE NEED FOR A 30-33" DISH for 118.7 (Anik 3) At al7bar site, Cessna Pilot has reported scanning 118.7 on a 20" Dish with some results. Usually at least a 4 db drop in signal. It is one thing testing and reporting it for fun, and another if you want a nice permanent and reliable setup.
