I posted this in the music section but no one responded.

Does anyone know how to convert music files? I just opened an account with BearShare, $1.00 a month to my understanding.

Anyways, I'm having problems burning the files to a disc with my media player(Windows Media Player, Creator Classic).

A window keeps on popping up saying "You need a license to perform the requested operation on this media file."

I used BearShare a while ago and it was free, had no problems burning music with my Media player.

I have no problems listening to these files on my CPU. I would like to have the files on a disc to listen to them in my ride.

Is there any way I can mess with these files?

Use Real Player... I find it better than Windows, myself.

Free Limewire is still light years better than paying for Bearshare!

Limewire is the best for downloading music but if you want to download whole albums and movies ( specially new movies) i would suggest you use torrent websites. much better and faster downloads and its free! Ofcourse its illegal, so is limewire and FTA. LOL

Limewire you can preview each song you download..let it download for 20% and perview it..if you don't like it you can cancel it right away..download MP3 with Limewire is really fast too....
But for downloading movies go to torrent websites it much better....

Thanks LK.

Sometimes, sadly, we forget in our day to day life of work, family, bills, tv., and everything else, just what is going on in other places in this world, and what others are doing and giving up for us.

Sincerely,

Yeah, Limewire is Upload, thanks for the info.

Bearshare sucks, even though I pay $1 a month I'm canceling. The reason I couldn't download

the files(mp3 or plain music files)to a cd is that the files were protected.

Licensed require, useless for a buck a month.

THUNDER, i think my PM is working. :-(

Haven't had a lot of free time lately.... I'm a writer on a show now as well as freelancer. So very busy.

I don't know, i'll check if i have PM messages there.

In regards 2 the music.... sometimes those files in pay sites are not mp3 files. I thought he needed conversion software. But it looks like the bearshare he's using is just crap.

Good 2 know that. We just keep on learning around here.
