Pixilation Problem

I'm running Atmega/3100 on B$V91 with Wicked 5.5 pfg. Experiencing picture break-up approximately every 30 seconds. Signal strength is strong and steady on all transponders and all connections are tight. I unplugged for an hour, but pixilation persists. Any ideas ? Thanks.

Decoding problem in receiver
But most likely dish out of alighnment

Signal can be strong but quality poor you can get break-up like yo describing. Quality is the actual amplified signal beam.

S should be 70% or higher
Q should be 60% or higher

If both S & Q are high but still breaking-up then it is other than alignment

Thanks King. But I'm using 3100 IRD which doesn't have a quality meter. Signal strength is 100% (!) on some transponders, in the 80's and 90's on most. Could it still be the dish ? Thank you again.

Alignment is a great possibility. It could be a connector rust from moisture or a slight cut in the wire if it is that old.
Dish may have slightly shifted as well.

What I will do before moving dish:
Run a known good RG-6 quad shield coaxial cable straight from LNB to receiver. Depending on what happens start process of elimination.

Let me know if yo got other questions.

Since I have 2 dishes pointed at Nimiq 91 (don't ask), I switched the 3100 IRD to the dish I KNOW is working correctly. Same damn problem. Therefore, the dish isn't the issue. What can I do with the IRD ? To reset it, or adjust it ? I'm stumped. I've been testing for many years, and the only thing I can think of is the pfg's I've tried don't marry well with my 3100 . Or is it the Atmega itself ? But programming it went perfectly as always. Thanks again for your input King.
