I looked through the archive for a solution to my problem but did not glean any answers.I have a Pansat 3500sd with the 148 bin installed. The programming guide has not been working for me as of late.It worked fine at first but now it is on a day to day basis. Some days it works and then then next it doesnt. Is there some thing I need to do to cure this?Or is this common with this bin since it is new and all?Any help would be appreciated.

HOW TO USE:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Please use the downloader included in a ZIP. [X-87BL Downloader.exe]
After updating your receiver with new release.
Please insure You should have atleast one of your dish facing on ECHO-6,8.
Other wise EPG will not be updated up to 8 hours. All Motorize dishes should be facing to Echo 6,8 too.
Other wise EPG will not be updated up to 8 hours. The reason to have Signal coming from ECho 6,8,
because EPG data coming from current satellite. As soonest your receiver has been updated to a new version,
right after reboot it will apear message
Loading EPG Please Wait..... 0% [||||||||||xx% ] 100% This poccess will take up to 1 to 2 minutes.
ECHO 6,8 = Echo 110.
Motor dishes dont need to update satellite one by one for EPG data.
when you restart by using your remote control
Option 1-[OK] Will update all Satellite EPG data up to 8 hours.(Again! Your motor DISH should be facing on Echo 6,
Even If you have your Motor dish faced to 6,8 only,
It will update all ECHO satelite EPG up to 8 hours
ECHO 61.5,- 3
ECHO 110,- 6,8
ECHO 119,- 7
ECHO 121,- 9
ECHO 148,- 1.2
and all other ECHO SATELLITES.
And we have an option to use for EPG up to 10 days by PID.
Simply in EPG bar will apear EPG update option.
[1 CH D.L]^(1 Channel EPG DOWNLOAD up to 7 Days). By pressing Yellow Button on your Remote Controll.
It wil apear Message [One CH, Load.. 0% [||||||||||xx% ] 100% This poccess will take up to 1 to 2 minutes.]

Please make a note.
1. EPG will not work If you guys dont have Dish Facing on Echo 6,8.
2 If the channel name apears TV 126 it will not update EPG data.
3 If channel is not updated up to date by Autoupdate It will not show EPG.
4 In user Setup correct the time to current, then OFF/ON your Receiver.
5. RECOMENDED to rescan the all network or simply wait for TP autoupdate.
And again, makesure one of your dish is facing on Echo 6,8=110.

On my Fortec Ultra with 273T bin I'm only getting 2 hours of EPG. Is there anyway to extend this?

I don't believe so.
The new 8hr epg bins (orig 147, bug fix 148) are built for pansat 2700a and 3500sd's.

Hope, you need to be more specific.
What receiver do you have?
And have you looked in the threads where your receiver is in the title?
These types of questions have been answered before, in detail, sometimes with step by step instructions.
Some I have even seen with pictures.

Tyler,

I have a pansat 2700a clone... however I'm not sure which file to download for the bin. I know it is posted everywhere but there is so much info that I have no idea what i should be using anymore. Lets just say I'm confused and maybe a lil blonde. :P
Plus last night I followed step by step instructions in one of the threads to redo my keys and channel list and so on and when I turned my machine on to enter the new keys it gave me "illegal satelite lock" powered off my reciever and I can't get it to even turn on. I'm kinda lost now with what I should do. But I figured I mind as well find out which bin file I should download so I can get that right in my other reciever. I need help... and I'm more than a lil frustrated. : (

All I know is this.... the guy that programmed my recievers originally changed my fortec star lifetime ultra to a pansat2700a. How? no clue... and that is the reciever i tried to get up and running late last night to see the fight. I should have tried the other one going it on my own for the first time seeing as it is actually a pansat clone. But thinking it would all be the same i didn't. That was my first blonde moment. So really this is all I know. I just want to get my reciever up and running.

Forget about what he said. and try to update it like a Pansat 2500a clone.
Use this been autoroll that is been working so far...

http://www.clickspin.com/FTA_Down/X-85BL_060318_273_au_api(N).bin

and after that delete all channels and do a blind scan.

It's going to take patients you need to have a hand on your receiver switch in the back and another one on the maouse for your computer and click to update while turning your receiver on it's hard but doable.

I have all the right stuff.... i think the reciever is fried or needs to be rejtagged. i redid the bin last night... plugged it back into the tv... went to enter the keys via remote and it said "illegal satelite signal" the reciever turned itself off and will not turn back on. I'm starting to think there is no fix for this thing.

15 Write the 243 bin and let the receiver boot up by itself.

Set-up of a Pansat 2500A FTA Receiver for Nagravision Satellites (Optional Reading)

This document will help you through the necessary steps to get your system up and running. It is based on experience as well as information gathered from a variety of internet sites. You should note that using an FTA receiver to descramble broadcasts is illegal and you do so at your own risk.
The 2500A will not have a program guide, which is about the only drawback. There is a bit of a guide with BEV, giving the show name and information using the EPG button and 'i' button for info.
