Samsung hlp5685 posterization

Hi everyone, I bought a HLP5685 last week and really like the tv with the exception of two things I have noticed.
1. Posterization-(false contouring, solarization, banding)I have Time Warner Cable using S-Video for SD channels and Cpmponent for HD channels, half the channels broadcasted are not digital and I have seen no Posterization on them, but the channels broadcasted in digital (SD or HD)sometimes do show Posterization (people's faces in shadows or flat areas like walls in a room).
What might be causing this- is it the the cable box (compression) or contrast level adjustment or the tv's interlacing?
2. I watch a lot of Black & White movies and rarely I see a blue tinge or coloring to high contrast closely spaced patterns ie... metal stairs outside, striped clothing, foilage under sunlight) for a brief time (1-2 seconds).

Any opinions or ideas would be greatly appreciated

Thanks much, Rob
