Have you considered or tried to find a closeout on the H/K 525? That would give you last years equivelant of the 630 at a bargain price. You can also find closeout prices on the 7200 for under $1000 at several sites. I believe I've seen it for $899 which is a real steal for such a powerhouse. H/K is a good pairing with Klipsch, by the way.

Go to www.nextag.com and get into the electronics section and then go to receivers and you will see several units listed that you can check prices on. Most of these dealers are not authorized however.

I think the 630 can separately adjust the subwoofer crossover on every individual speaker--it also has 50 amp instantaneous power as opposed to 40 ampon the 430. Just a bit punchier amp with better watts output and even better headroom for instantaneous needs of power when required.

The subwoofer control is a biggie if you have different speakers in the front and back. You can then individualize the crossover to take advantage of each speakers best suit. I know the 630 has virtual headphone jack--important to some, needless to many.

It, the 630, seems to have better DSP's--dual core 24 bit DSP's.

If I was driving 4 ohm speakers I would get the 630 and if I had different speakers I would get the 630.

I have 2 pairs of Monitor Audio Gold Reference G10's--hence that feature isn't a bigie for me. But many have special surround speakers and even other brands --then it has a big use.

Some people think, more power, bass management for 6/8 direct channel inputs, HDCD, mutiple digital outputs, and a heavier power supply are worth the difference, other's don't.

Let your ears and wallet be your guide.

You can check out the H/K AVR differences here -->

and learn about HDCD here. -->

and the search engine! :-)
