I was wondering--are the amp sections in receivers with preouts still active when the preouts are being used to drive an external amp?
I'd like to be able to use the L and R channels of the receiver to drive the speakers in my kitchen at the same time as the preouts drive the amp in my living room. Ideally I could turn the kitchen speakers on/off with an A/B switch.
Does this work, for example with the NAD T742/3 or others with preouts?
