I am setting up a retro music center to allow playing of LPs that I have collected over the years. I have a Crown DC300A power amp and an IC150 preamp. But I also have a lot of music on my network server and I tunes that I would like to able to access. I don't have to use the old components and I wouldn't be opposed to having a laptop at the center for access to the network music. Am I better off just buying a new controller? I'm looking at bookshelf speakers with a sub. Of course the older components are not blue tooth or wifi capable. Not sure what direction to go in.

.

Well, that leaves a lot of "ifs" left unanswered.

If you have a sufficient number of unused analog inputs, buy an external DAC. Run your digital sources into the DAC and run the DAC into your pre amp.
