Bose 321 series iii loud buzz from subwoofer

The sound is loud even with the volume turned all the way down on the system. Used bose cables to connect to the unit and all other connections HDMI to tv. It does not matter what source is selected. Are the sub and the receiver both plugged into the same AC circuit? Same wall outlet? Is this a new system? New set up? Or, something that just started to be noticeable on an old system and set up? .
