I was wondering if anybody has bought a VSX-S912K, and has a turntable hooked directly to it. I noticed most online stores state "no phono input". I emailed Pioneer, and their reply is "this unit is phono compatible". I suppose that could also mean "this unit is phono compatible using a phono preamp". I would like to eliminate the need for one. Any experiences will be highly appreciated!

You either have to get a phono preamp adapter, or get one of those newer tunrtables that have one built in.
