Sony str-de325 receiver - protect light flashes no sound?

Seconds after turning on receiver protect light comes on and flases. No music is heard. I don't have my user manual, so i am not even sure what the flasing protect light means. Is there a reset, maybe?, hopefully? or is some thing ruined?

I seem to be having the same problem bro. I don't have the user manual either. I asked my friend who used to work at an electronics store and says the problem is unfixable.
But then again he could just be talking out of his behind. Hey let me know if you figure it out!

I had this same problem and found that it was caused by a short circiut. In my case, I had a positive and negative wire touching where the receiver meets in the back. Once I seperated them, everything was back to normal. Check your wires. Hopefully, it will be nothing more...
