Hello everyone,

I am fairly new to A/V equipment, please excuse me if my terminology is a bit off. That said, I have a question about connecting my JVC tape deck to an old equalizer, model stated in the thread title. I ran the tape deck as a test directly to my amp, an '80s Pioneer SX-6. It worked fine. I trie to run the tape deck through my equalizer, then not so fine. In fact, no sound at all. I succesfully got my turntable going through the equalizer, but the tape deck baffles me. I'm pretty sure I'm running the cables to the right places (tape deck out to equalizer tape one in, EQ tape 1 out to amp tape 1 in), so I guess I'm just not pressing the right buttons on my equipment. Can anyone shed some light? All help is appreciated. Sorry again if this is an elementary question.

Thanks!

Tried that, still no sound. I told you my wiring already, here is what i've been trying to press...

Of course, "Play" on the tape deck.
Tape 1 on the equalizer
Tape 1 monitor on the amp

Without the equalizer It was working fine.
Possibly, a problem with the EQ rca plugs?

Thanks

As an added note, the EQ is working fine with my turntable.

Possibly a problem anywhere.
Try the eq out and aux into the Pioneer, no tape monitor?
