How do you tell if your turntable's direct drive motor is broken?

I just want to know how do you know if the turntable is broken or not? When I am mixing records sometimes its seems like it speeds the record up and then goes back to normal and ohter times its seems like the two records won't mix so how do you know?

In this case, you take it to a repair shop and they will tell you.

Not to sound too flip; but how would I know who repairs turntables in your small town? Begin with the manufacturer of the table. Get with their 800 line or on their web page and ask who is the closest repair center. Proceed from that point with information in hand.

You're probably asking the wrong group of people since I doubt any of us backscratch our records.

"You're probably asking the wrong group of people since I doubt any of us backscratch our records."

Now that's hilarious. Didn't know you had it in you Jan, what with all the veneer of bs.

The MOFO has spoken.
