I just bought a Pioneer PL-10 on E-bay and received it in VERY shoddy packing. I currently have a Pioneer Pl-12D and notice that there is an anti-skating weight on the tonearm of my PL-12D but I don't see it on the PL-10. Is this normal? How would you compare the PL-10 in performance against the PL-12D?

The PL-10 should have a separate control knob behind the tonearm (on the base of the unit) for skid control.

Just out of curiosity, what did you pay for that PL-10?

Hi,

I paid 50 dollars for it but 25.00 shipping also. It took me awhile to clean out as the clown that send it also taped the dustcover to the base and it left all the glue residue on it when I removed it. It was pretty bad tape also, I put on a new belt and a Grado Black which is an improvement over the Shure M91ED that was on it. The turntable is performing quite well right now. I should be getting my Technics SL-1350 back from being repaired and I can't wait. There is NOTHING like vinyl :-)
