Correction: SL-210 problem

I have recently purchased an SL-210 Technics, i had bought it to replace an older model my parents own but didnt work. can some one either help me out on the calibration cause i have all the wiring correct, but im getting a hum and no movement. The player is not moving at all. This is a birthday present and i would love for it to work so if anyone can help out that would be awesome. Also if anyone knows were i can get the instruction booklet for free online, or if worese comes to worse somewhere i can buy it

That's a belt-driven player you have there. The belt has probably either slipped off the pulley or the platter, or has broken/deteriorated.

Take the platter off which exposes the inside (the platter should come off easily). There should be a spindle spinning when the player is on, and there may or may not be a thin black belt attached to it and going around the platter. Since your player isn't spinning, it's probably slipped off or broken.
