Im looking to get 2 floor stnading speakers(i have 2 Kenwood JL-S170 and love them-old but awsome)a solid reciever/amp to power the 2 speakers and a 12' sub. Im new to home audio so i dont really know wut is needed, but i just want a simple setup for a room that me and my friends can watch movies, and play games in and can sound good. If you can i will most likley buy used if u can give me speaker names that are of good quality and costly-not cheap that would be great...ask any questions u may have and thanks guys

4-Way Output
Dual 6.5" Subwoofers
3" Sealed Back Midrange
2" Tweeter

I really doubt they are really 4-way. It's likely that the two subwoofers (now that's funny too) are driving the same frequencies.

You can find them for $44.75 on the net, outside of ebay!

They are going to sound like what they are going to sounds like... No garantees there. But if $89.95 is what you are willing to spend, then how can you possibly go wrong? Buy 'em and see.

I'd be worried about the shipping: US $29.95 + $29.95 each additional item. If he charging $29.95 or $29.95 x 6 items! (why is he calling this 6.1 if there's no sub?)

Neither, really. Looking deeper into this, the KS-401HT speakers are sold here for $60 each without any sort of warranty, plus shipping. If one was to buy 5, then they would sell for $300 plus shipping. They originally retailed for $500 with sub and receiver included! So $300 is overpriced...

However, given that you only want two you're not going to be spending much. Buy Fluance SV-6 instead for the same price. People seem to like 'em for the price (I've never heard them).

Nick,

a cheap bookshelf will cream a cheap floorstander any day of the week, especially at the price point you're looking at.

Aside from the Fluance, check out Best Buy for closeout deals on the Athena speakers.

For the amp, go to Harman Direct on eBay and get yourself a Harman Kardon 3480 for around $150-200 with full original warranty, 120wpc should be plenty.

For the sub, go to partsexpress.com and search for the Dayton 10" sub for abour $145 shipped.

Peter, don't expect most posters to acknowledge your efforts-ain't gonna happen. Folks are a lot more willing to criticize than they are to compliment. Envy is a dangerous thing. I'm just glad that the poster bothered to thank anyone. I post to assist. Whether they thank me or not is irrelevant. With expectations so low, it's difficult for me to become disappointed. Tell Edster good job and move on.
