Subwoofer not working at all...

Hey all,

My subwoofer recently stopped working (infinity perfect 12 DVC). It started to fade in and out then just stopped. I thought maybe it was a loose connection, but everything was fine. To test it, I brought it in the house and connected the speaker to my home stereo just to see if it would get any signal at all (that would work if nothing was wrong, right?). No luck, but when I took the sub out of the box, everything looks fine, all wires connected and everything, and it's definately not blown. The only thing I can see is one wire going from a terminal into the cone came slightly out of the glue, but it still seems to be connected. Can anyone suspect what might be wrong? Could it be something with the voice coil? The sub was only used for about 8 months with an amp only pushing 350, the sub's rms.

Second question: I just bought a jetta and it has a 12 volt outlet in the trunk. Would it be possible to use that to power my amp somehow instead of wiring it all the way to the battery?

Thanks for any advice,
Nick
