Guys,
I just got from website, the Yamaha will release the new AV Receiver with HDMI. Take a look from the infos below:

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Yamaha Electronics Corporation today introduced the RX-V4600, a new A/V digital home theater receiver with HDMI, Dual i.LINK, HD Radio technology, and YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer).

130W x 7 and HDMI Switching
The mid-priced RX-V4600 features 130W x 7-channel amplification and employs Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) design concept to maximize digital sound quality, with several operation modes that provide short, direct signal paths for even greater sound clarity. The receiver features component video up-conversion, HDTV (720p/1080i) compatibility, and a two-in-one out HDMI switching interface. The HDMI interface offers the convenience of a single cable connection and ensures that there is no deterioration in quality in its digital audio and video signal transmission.

Advanced Audio Features with Dual i.LINK
The Dual i.Link terminals provide a digital connection for DVD-Audio linear PCM, Super Audio CD DSD and other high quality audio sources. In addition, the 192 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converters are used for all seven channels. For true audiophiles, a Pure Direct Switch provides the highest quality two-channel and multichannel stereo sound reproduction. A Night Listening Enhancer ensures that all programs, including Dolby Pro Logic IIx, sound natural at lower volume levels.

HD Radio Integration
HD Radio technology, which is seamlessly integrated into the RX-V4600, transmits digital audio and data alongside existing AM and FM analog signals, allowing listeners with Yamaha's HD Radio compatible receivers to enjoy CD-quality sound, while virtually eliminating the static and hiss often associated with analog radio. The technology also provides a platform for the delivery of advanced services that will provide listeners with information such as song titles, artist names, and more. Additionally, HD Radio technology's multicasting capability allows FM stations to divide their broadcasts into unique program streams, thereby increasing the diversity of content available to consumers. Approximately 275 U.S. radio stations are HD Radio broadcasters today, with nearly 2,500 commitmented to deploying the technology within the next few years.

YPAO Room Correction
YPAO plays a key role in configuring home theater systems. This essential technology completely simplifies the home theater set-up process by automatically analyzing room acoustics and setting parameters for optimum sound quality at the listening position, all at the touch of a button. The entire process takes less than three minutes----and with YPAO, the user can be assured of "professionally calibrated" surround sound quality. Six YPAO settings can be stored in the receiver's memory.

DSP and Other Goodies
The RX-V4600 uses several advanced technologies to bring audio performances to the next level including Yamaha's advanced Quad-Field CINEMA DSP system provides a choice of 14 realistic-sounding surround programs. It is capable of delivering 7.1 channels of sound that is compatible with all the latest surround sound formats. The receiver offers Circle Surround II, a surround sound decoder from SRS Labs that enhances CS-II encoded HD Radio and cable/satellite TV programs. CS-II programs can be enjoyed in two modes, Cinema and Music with TruBass and FOCUS adjustment.

In addition, when the RX-V4600 is used with front presence speakers, the Dialogue Lift function ensures correct sound imaging when the center speaker is placed below a large screen and enables users to make extensive adjustments to achieve optimum sound quality. The receivers also offer a SILENT CINEMA mode for enjoying surround-like sound through headphones.

The RX-V4600 is compatible with the latest sound formats, including Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS-ES Discrete 6.1, DTS Neo:6 and DTS 96/24, and also provide THX Select2 processing for enhanced playback of movies, music and video games.

On-Screen GUI Interface and 3 Zones
In addition, a new on-screen display with GUI interface menus has been incorporated and a learning remote control provides easy access to all functions of the RX-V4600 including easy-to-use custom installation features. The receiver offers multi-sourced Zone 2, Zone 3 with volume control, Main/Zone 2/Zone3 power direct On/Off switch, 2 trigger outputs, IR ports and a RS-232C interface. A new custom Zone remote control is included to easily manage all of the receiver's advanced Zone capabilities, in addition to a Zone control button on the front panel.

The RX-V4600 carries an MSRP $1,899.95 and will be available in June

Sounds like a good deal if the MSRP is true.

Sounds a little low for what is stated above.

Check this from www.audioholics.com

I wonder if the RX2500 will be upgraded to RX-2600 with just add the HDMI features.
Will be hard to beat by DENON.

Looks like it has no upconversion of other inputs to HDMI, too bad. It also looks like it will not send the on screen display through the HDMI, double too bad!!!!

How do you know it won't upconvert or support OSD via HDMI?

Wow,

I was all set to buy the 2500, but now may just wait a bit and get this one... The improved multi-zone controls and HDMI are features that I definetly could go for...

Thanks for the heads-up look4sun! I had not looked at the Yamaha Canada site recently, and might have missed this.
