Hey i need help with an Onkyo TX-SR500 av reciever that i have. I live in england right now and it is a canadian amp. I have it running on a 110v transformer and it was working fine. But some idiot friend plugged it straight into the wall outlet and now it won't work. It will go on standbye but thats it. I think that it activated the safety circuitry system. Is there anyway to fix this without sending it to a dealer? Thanks

If you're lucky it might just be a matter of replacing a blown fuse, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Call up Onkyo, they must have a tech support number for the UK/Europe I'd think.

i wouldnt email. i tried doing that when my sub was humming and recieved a reply after i had fixed the problem. I would look for a number to call or some local hifi shop to get it fixed. with email there is always the option to ignore, phone call or showing up somewhere gives your situation higher priority.
