Hello,

I'm looking into buying one of these a/v receivers. One feature that is luring me to the Kenwood is the THX processing. They're both around the same price range, but I was wondering if anyone knows which one of these would be a better fit for my speaker system:

Klipsch SF-1 Floor speakers
Klipsch C-2 Center
Klipsch ss.5 Surrounds
Sony WX700 sub

Or would anyone suggest a better receiver around the $300 range?

Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks

I forgot to leave the specs on these receivers.

Okay, I'll say it!
I like Kenwood and this particular model is really great when mated to the Klipsch.

To be fair I used the RF-35, and the Kenwood loved driving those things. And no it did not sound shrill at all.

Thanks for your input. I haven't heard too much about Kenwood, but I was drawn to the specs and THX processing. Yet I hear so many good reviews about Yamaha receivers including the one I am comparing. Berny, could you tell me what features you liked about the Kenwood vr-8070? Thanks again!

That particular Yamaha makes the Klipsch sound a little too harsh for my taste. I judged the Kenwood because it sounded better than the Yamaha, plus a better price. Featurewise, I think the Yamaha is better. The THX logo was not a selling point for me.

So do you think I should go with the Kenwood? Or is there another receiver that you prefer in the 2-300 dollar range that would go good with my klipsch speakers?

For that price range I would go with the Kenwood. A lot of bang for the buck.
