Not sure I am asking the question correctly, but I understand that there are receivers out there that can convert diffrent types of audio inputs (from dvd, vcr,Tivo)and handle them all when connected to HDTV allowing all components to be run from the Receiver.
Can anyone shed some light on this and give me some ideas of Receivers to look at.
I think you'd be talking about video inputs, not audio. Unfortunately few receivers even have component connections, fewer still upsample S-Video and composite connections to component.
The Harman Kardon AVR7300 jumps to mind $2000, the Onkyo TX-NR1000 and the Denon 5805 $8000.
