This may be overly simplistic, but I'm new to this, and I'm not sure where to start. I figured I'd check with people who know the subject better than I. I want to build a system around two vintage Marantz Model 2 tube amps and a Fairchild 245 tube Preamp that I've had in storage for some time (they're getting a tune-up now). Would I be better off looking for new speakers, or should I look for speakers of a similar vintage to my amps? I don't care about looks- I just want the best sound & reliability. I figure new speakers aren't relly designed with old tube amplification in mind, but is it something I should be concerned about? Are there any new (reasonably priced) floor speakers that would work well with what I have, or would I be better off checking out eBay and Tag Sales?
