hi all,

my receiver is 100 watts continuous rms with 8 ohms.
i can watch jbl speakers for surrounds.it`s specification is 50 watts continuous/200 watts peak.and it`s recommended amp power is 100 watts.

should i connect this speaker to my receiver?? why this dout because, they specify 50 watts continuous for speaker and 100watts for receiver.

speaker`s maximum recommended amp power is 100 watts.does it is equal to 100watts continuous power of receiver?

please clear my douts

I wouldn't worry about it too much. As I understand it you're more likely to damage a speaker through too few watts than too many. Furthermore unless youre planning to turn the volume up to the maximum, I don't believe it will be running anywhere near the full 100 watts anyways (correct me if I'm wrong).

I personally have run a few cube speakers rated for 75 watts max off a hundred watt amp without any issues but that may just be my stupidity.

I used the same set-up

100w per channel receiver into 50/200w peak surround speakers

I never had a problem.
