ok ive tried pretty much everything that i can think of i have the sub connected no problem but there is no sound from it i have the sub selected to yes on the reciver and i have tried to do the test tone feature on my reciver but there is still no sound ive tried much more as well but this post will be like 3 pages so any thoughts maybe the sub is defective im not sure by the way its a jbl e150p sub and a sony reciver

When I hooked up my sub yesterday, I didn't realize that it actually had an on/off switch at the back. Also, you might have to turn the volume up from zero.
Sounds like you did these two things, I'm just saying. Also, make sure the connections are right. If you've done all that then I would think it might be defective. You should maybe take it back to the store and have them test it on one of their systems.
