Can someone please tell me what the difference is?
I am thinking about purchasing a Marantz PM-7200, but I'm not sure if it is designed for audio systems or surround sound systems. Would it be a good choice for audio only? Thanks.
The integrated amplifier has the processor and amp in the same unit without a tuner. A cd and/or dvd player could be used with it for two channel stereo.
A stereo amplifier(the term is loosely used), on the other hand, is a two channel amp that would normally be used to power a two channel system with a processor and a cd and/or dvd player.
Neither of these on their own would be for surround sound.
