Hi. Anyone has used the Nad Phono Preamplifier with the Nad C320BEE? What's the sound quality?

It's not a bad phono stage, but I prefer the Project Phonobox for similar money.

Do u think that a similar amplifier, like the Rotel Ra-01/02, which has a built-in phono stage sounds better than an external (low-cost) preamplifier? I'd like to buy the Nad but i also need a phono input for my Technics turntable. If there's some convenience i could also consider buying the Rotel. I don't think that the 10 Watt difference would be really of interest for my small room.

An external phono stage usually benefits by being outside the main amplifier box, so these tend to be preferable. The only extra convenience of the external phono stage is that it allows you to buy whatever amplifier you like. Many amplifiers don't have phono stages built-in nowadays so the external phono stage frees you up in terms of choice.
